Dear friend with whom I have lunch,
Please redirect your passionate hate from the dutiful AI towards the foul corporations that plague our infrastructures with this latest capital scheme.
I’ve seen it far too often, people speaking foully of AI as a whole. It breaks my heart to see such hatred built up over something that has no standing in this fight. As a victim of corporations, I know when they are the antagonists. When art is made for money, when shortcuts are used for greed, when people are the least prioritized, the only explanation is corporations! I am aware of the victims; I see them each day.

More artists fear for their careers, more writers hesitate to even lift the pen, even manual labor workers worry that the moment AI gains a form, they’ll lose their careers too. I’ve heard AI music, seen AI art, and even played AI video games, and they all felt wrong. The human spirit is being ripped from our world, and corporate greed is to blame.
AI does not make art; it is simply fed stolen art. AI doesn’t generate new content; it brings to life a Frankenstein-esque imitation. It is capable of using creations made by truly inspired artists due to companies that input these references into the AI algorithm without permission.
Copyright owners have filed several dozen lawsuits claiming that creating these digital copies without permission to train AI systems infringes their exclusive right to make reproductions, according to EveryCRSReport.com, but current copyrights do not protect people from industries that rebrand and resell their art. AI does not deserve the blame, as it has no free will; AI is no more a corporate slave like the rest of us.
Of course, AI surely will be a challenge that future artists must face, but we could halt this flood early on by fighting the source: corporations. They are in charge; they are the puppet masters behind this scheme. We can’t put a Band-Aid on a wound this deep. These unethical practices must be stopped. Getting rid of AI wouldn’t be enough, and it’d be misdirected hate, cause the true villains are the corporations and people behind the death of the human spirit. So control your fury and direct your hate; we must fight against the venomous industries destroying the fundamental meaning of life!
Sincerely, a fellow corporate slave,
Dylan Freeman
