Competitor Number 1:
Ted Lasso
Rating: 13+
This show starring Jason Sudeikis as Lasso himself has become one of the most popular shows in a long time, and a hilarious one at that. Ted Lasso takes a top spot on this Summit. It is a show that never fails to make you laugh and put you in a good mood! This show has amazing drama and never stops you from wondering what is going to happen next. Ted Starts out as an American Football coach who is hired to become a soccer coach in England. He obviously did not know anything about this other football game, and it is not clear at first why he was hired for this position. As the reasoning becomes clear, it also becomes clear that coaching is a universal job that might not even depend on what kind of ball is being used. Maybe that was the intention after all. The main conflict of season one focuses on the team being people of good character rather than winners, but with other character-based conflicts the show makes the audience want to watch more. With three seasons available to stream on Apple TV or Prime Video, you have enough to fill the time until Season 4 comes out.
Competitor Number 2:
Arcane
Rating: 13+
This animated show about two sisters facing a great struggle has finally released its second season after an almost three-year hiatus, and many people say it was worth the wait. Arcane is about two sisters named Powder and Vi. They live in an underground rundown city while the rich people sit above them in pure luxury. The pair makes it their goal to make the underground a better place for the residents! However, Powder ends up making a brutal mistake causing the family to break apart completely. Before Vi can go back and help her little sister, she gets imprisoned. Powder then undergoes a name change and is adopted for the second time, but this time by the story’s main villain. After being left on a cliffhanger, Arcane finally released the jaw-dropping second season. Arcane’s Season Two uses some amazing animation and action-packed fights to keep the viewers on the edge of their seats for the entire show! It’s wonderful original story combined with relatable characters and a rich versus poor theme gives it a strong sense of betrayal and tough love. With the release of the second season, the show has had a resurgence. It is available to stream on Netflix.
Competitor Number 3:
Black Clover
Rating: 12+
Black Clover is an anime featuring a main character, Asta, and the main deuteragonist, Yuno. It has some of the best animation of its time and the storyline to go with it. Asta and Yuno started out as poor orphans; they are striving to become the greatest mages in the world and to claim the title of the Wizard King. However, with only one Wizard King, they have to compete to be the best. They go on many adventures to try to become stronger than anyone else, however, they face one problem: Asta has no magic and is denied the magical book known as the Grimoire that all people in the Black Clover series receive. He soon realizes that without the Grimoire, he won’t be able to take the first step toward becoming a magic knight. Asta faces the conflict of becoming a Magic Night and the one and only Wizard King before his adopted brother and now rival, Yuno, beats him to it. The series is available to watch on multiple platforms: Crunchyroll, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video and Apple TV.
Golden Award:
With top-notch animation and a story about reaching for the stars, the winner of the first Golden Award is Black Clover. They will be featured in the next podcast and will be the first ever podcast topic! Black Clover is 100% worth considering. Black Clover is one of the greatest shows of all time in my opinion.
